The LeaderSail Foundation is committed to providing a safe and secure experience for all those participating in our scholarship and fundraising programs. This is particularly true in the collection and use of private data. The LeaderSail Foundation will make every effort to keep the information collected during our programs secure. We will not sell or provide in anyway the personal information provided to other companies or organizations outside of the programs that we directly support.

Private and Personal Information Collected

Data collected of a personal nature such as name, address and phone number, and information required for processing scholarships will be closely protected by the Foundation. This information will be used only in relation to the selection of the awardees and as may be needed in the fundraising endeavors. The LeaderSail Foundation will only provide this to people or organizations outside the programs we directly support as required by law.

Financial Data Security

The Foundation utilizes the trusted services of PayPal to process all credit card payments. Their record of security in the industry has prompted us to use them for all electronic transactions. The LeaderSail Foundation does not maintain any credit card information on our servers. The credit card information collected by PayPal is securely encrypted, and therefore a trusted means of processing credit card donations. Similarly donations through check, bank draft and the financial data transmitted by these means will be closely protected, and secured to industry standards.

Summary

The Foundation is fully committed to providing an outstanding experience in all regards, and will work diligently to protect your personal and financial data. All data collected will be used for the sole and express purposes of the LeaderSail Foundation and only provided to others as required by law. This policy is limited to the LeaderSail Foundation scholarship and fundraising programs only and will not apply to any use of third party sites as may be linked to the Foundation web site. Check the security policy of all third party sites before use. The LeaderSail Foundation reserves the right to modify this policy as needed.

Legal

It is implied by your use of this site, that you accept the following terms and conditions. This site is designed to support the LeaderSail Foundation. The Foundation has been incorporated as a nonprofit organization with a dedicated goal to help develop our nation’s youth through leadership and character development training that is centered around sailing. The board of directors administers the Foundation under the laws and rules of the State of Florida. The program is not sponsored by any of the parent credentialing programs it currently serves, or the programs that receive support from the Foundation. The LeaderSail Foundation affiliation with the credentialing agencies, government organizations, educational institutions, or other links to professional and commercial organizations, do not convey or imply the Foundation’s endorsement of these programs, or their endorsement of the Foundation beyond that stated with each association. The LeaderSail Foundation cannot be held responsible for any loss arising from the information on any linked site. All information is provided in good faith, and ultimately it is the end user’s responsibility to weigh the information provided and make their own informed and independent assessment and selection of the programs offered. There is no warranty with respect to the accuracy of the information on this site; however every effort has been made to make the site as accurate as possible. Any changes to the LeaderSail Foundation’s program will be posted at leadersailfoundation.org. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Support Policy

Should any youth not be medically qualified or not receive a positive recommendation from his/her instructor/superior with respect to the candidates responsibility, moral character or ability to travel and represent their home program, the host training program or the LeaderSail Foundation in a positive manner. The Foundation reserves the right to refuse service or not accept the applicant into a scholarship program. Also, these policies discussed are applicable to all special events. The Foundation reserves to right to deny any chosen youth of specials event based on the criteria discussed in this document. Similarly, if the applicant is in the process of fundraising and misuses the tools or behaves in an inappropriate manner, the foundation may deny services in support of the applicant. Youth are also not guaranteed a spot in any program the LeaderSail Foundation supports just by reaching fundraising goals. Programs we support may no longer have any available spots on the program the youth desires to attend. However, every effort will be made to accommodate youth who reach their goals and if the youth cannot be accommodated in the chosen program session, they will have the option of rolling items over until the next available program. If youth raise an amount in excess of there fundraising goals the LeaderSail Foundation will designate those funds to the general account to help support other youth.
